The Valiants could come against former loanee Donovan Wilson who is in the current Exeter City squad. The Wolves striker joined the club last season. On 11 January 2018, he joined on loan until the end of the 2017–18 season. The “Valiants” had previously attempted to sign Wilson on loan the previous summer. On 17 March, Wilson scored his first goal in the English Football League in a 2–2 draw with Stevenage at Vale Park. However, that was his only goal for the club as he returned to his parent club early. His Vale record was eight games and that solitary goal.
A player who will miss out on an opportunity to face his former employees is Vale midfielder Manny Oyeleke (top right). The central midfielder is set to miss the rest of the season after being injured against Crewe. It brings to an end an impressive first season for the club in marked contrast to his spell at Exeter. Oyeleke joined the Grecians on 7 May 2015 signing a one-year deal. However, he made just eleven appearances, scoring once before being released at the end of the campaign.
