Returning winger Onel Hernandez says “you see lots of stuff on social media, but that isn’t always true” after his will he/won’t he move to the Valiants is completed.
There has been much speculation about whether Hernandez would return to the club but his return on a one year contract has been warmly welcomed by most Vale fans. The supporters’ appetite was whetted by a series of eye catching performances by the veteran winger at the end of last season.
Hernandez has promised to do even better in his “second” spell as he is fitter than during his initial stay in the Potteries.
The 33 year-old told the inhouse PVTV team: “I’m very happy. I knew from the start that I would come back. You see lots of stuff on social media, but that isn’t always true.
I’ve always been in contact with the gaffer, and coming back here is the greatest thing that I can imagine. I will do my best and give everything. I want to play a great season, to get promoted, which won’t be easy, but I want to express myself on the pitch and enjoy football…

“I want to bring this club back to League One, where it belongs. The last time I experienced that was at Norwich City – this community is great, and that’s why I came back here.
“They will see a much fitter Hernandez than before. I’ve worked very hard to be in this shape and going through the last few seasons, wherever I was, it was always difficult to get back into shape because I didn’t have a lot of game time or injuries.”
