Tom Conlon player profile:

Locally-born midfielder Tom Conlon signed a one-year deal with the Valiants after impressing in pre-season friendly games.

Conlon had begun his career in the Stoke City youth team before being released and joining local non-league side Newcastle Town. Signed by Peterborough United in 2015 he made his league debut while on loan with Stevenage. He subsequently joined Stevenage on a permanent basis for whom he made over fifty first-team appearances.

After recovering from injury he made his debut in a game against Forest Green and soon became a regular in the Vale midfield and scored his first goal in a 6-2 home defeat to Lincoln City.

He blotted his copy book with a red card in a Checkatrade Trophy game with Bristol Rovers but following a decent first season with the Valiants, Port Vale duly took up the option of a one-year extension to Conlon’s contract at the end of the season.
