“Thanks for everything” – class act Conlon bids goodbye to Port Vale
Classy midfielder Tom Conlon has posted a heartfelt message on social media following the end of his six season stay at Vale Park.
The former skipper sealed a permanent move to Oldham Athletic ending a spell in Burslem which saw him make 258 appearances and named the club’s 2021 player of the year.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, Conlon said:
Six years that I will never ever forget. To everyone related to the football club thanks for everything. Memories I will never forget. Players I’ve met who will be friends for life. Staff members who have helped me more than they will ever know. Thanks to every single person who has sent me a message and thanks to everyone who has supported me and the team over the years. I appreciate each and every one of you. I wish the club nothing but success.
It’s a classy end to Conlon’s spell at the club. Announcing his departure, Vale were fulsome in their praise with Director of Football David Flitcroft saying: “We wish Tom nothing but the absolute best. He and his family will always be welcome back at Vale Park in the future.”
