Tom Page player profile:
Inside-forward Tom Page was signed by Port Vale for £400 from Everton in 1920. He hit nine goals in his first season and then was top-scorer in the 1921-22 season with ten goals. He also had the habit of scoring against neighbours Stoke City, netting three goals in Potteries Derbies.
Page was joint top-scorer alongside Billy Briscoe in 1923-24 and continued to be a reliable goalscorer with ten goals during the 1925-26, 1926-27 and 1927-38 seasons.
The veteran forward played for the Valiants until 1929, when after ten seasons at the club and at the grand old age of 40 years old, he was released following Port Vale’s relegation that season.
He finished just short of three hundred appearances for Port Vale and later moved on to play for New Brighton.
