Port Vale 0-3 Bristol City
Port Vale slumped to their sixth successive defeat as they lost to leaders Bristol City at Vale Park.
Somewhat surprisingly Jordan Slew, who had netted twice in the last two games dropped to the bench while Freddie Veseli, Michael Brown, Chris Birchall and Colin Daniel were given starts.
However, the changes were to no avail as the recently prolific Aaron Wilbraham netted his sixth goal of the season after 13 minutes.
Vale were struggling to force the City keeper into any meaningful saves and there was disaster moments into the second period as giant defender Aden Flint doubled the visitor’s lead.
Vale responded with a triple substitution but to no avail as a defensive error allowed Aaron Wilbraham to score his second of the game on the hour mark.
There was no way back for Vale and the pressure on manager Micky Adams will continue to build.
