  2. i'm only just posting as i did'nt want this to be a knee jerk whatsit, but Burton, Bristol r, Wigan and the first 45mins we were getting it together, Peterbro well apart from a couple of chances were as carol says championship ready. The team who went up the tunnel were not the ones who came back down, if they had been in the army they would have been shot for desertion. What was put in there half time drink? i thought QPR was bad but then at least we scored 4... our "players" should take a long hard look at themselves because that second half a pub team would have beaten them, Exeter could have been 6 at least.

I've done with them now, i will see what the team is in the 2nd before i go again.

A lot of fans were saying while Fraudcroft was still in place and dictating the style of football, who we can recruit - well not recruit etc, they were finished with Vale till he went.

He has gone, so now the building/repairing job starts on the playing squad and also the fans falling back in love with the Vale and supporting them.  This will be in Div 2, unless the squad are praised by the football gods and they start scoring, defending and winning all our remaining games.  No I don't think this will happen either.

the old saying with a little tweek "you can take the fan out of VALE, but you can't take the VALE out of the fan"... or my own "when the midwife slapped my arse she said VALE and thats what it is". So if it is div.2 so be it for next season...

  4. if anyone who carol listens too reads this, this is my open letter to carol, please pass it on to her...

thank you for saving my club from smurf...

but i will never forgive you for your ineptitude in keeping it safe, and thriving...

when you bought it you said i don't know anything about running a football club, fair enough, but if you had any wherewithall you should have asked the questions you wanted to know the answers too. To people who were experienced in doing it, and not the first chancer to walk in the door.

do you really think we are doing well, going in the right direction, being a credit to the fans who have supported you, and the community its in? if you cannot answer yes, then get rid of the man who has caused all this trouble.

i was going to say before its too late, but i fear it is too late...

My biggest gripe with Carol is that many of her comments about the club create the impression that she has bought a small, minor division club with no history like Stevenage or something.

I genuinely think she believes the current situation isn’t that bad and we are somehow punching above our weight being in league 1 in the first place. That’s certainly the flavour of things I get from the letter.

what about a poll and send it to carol, in a open letter...

Last game of the season or when relegation is confirmed for the Flitcroft protest?

realistically its too late now, but why let him pick his wage up till the end of the season?

I genuinely would love to know what the discussions were like between carol and fraudcroft while they were sat watching that game yesterday.

"well dave we are championship ready, if only those phenomenal players you found would pull their fingers out, but don't you fret dave its not your fault the other teams don't let our players have our ball...

A handful of games ago I had some hope and would have gave Flitcroft until the end of the season. Get rid now. Will make no difference to this season but need to start building for next and there will be a big turnover of players. Other than Garrity, Ripley and Chislett I'd put the rest on the transfer list and start from scratch.

i've said on another thread the damage he's done could mean next season's gone aswell, what with contracts meaning some of these wan**rs are still here, Ripley, Garrity, are a cert to go. Carol will blame fans of "a lack of ambition" when season tickets go through the floor, but even has a good buisness-woman that should tell her something, but it wont be df's fault in her eyes, he's got to go NOW...

  9. jones for me should never be allowed to "play" in any of our teams again, did he even make a tackle?, he ran with their player down the wing then when they got to our area he just stopped, a few times. Keep his registration but don't play him, we don't want to let him ruin any other team (stoke excluded).

flu*cough has got to go now, hes ruined us this and next season with "players" contracts, seriously we're building for the non-league and its got to start now... chanting is not doing any good. This has got to get serious...or we are gone.

I'm saying that we have to spend money to make money and ultimately become self-sustainable or as close as possible so that we dont end up in the state we were under Norman where our ground was held together with soft bog roll and sticky tape.  Again- it isnt going to happen over night but it certainly will never happen without investment.  That is just one example of where money has been spent to provide a new money earning facility- the new scoreboard is another, the business centre in the Lorne Street is another, the increased investment in the range sold in the club shop is another, the fanzone is yet another, the improved marketing is another and even the increased community work has seen a massive rise in the number of families with young children- they are the new generation of fans that are more important than ever what with the availability of so much live football on TV.  Maybe there's an argument that your first class degree in economics which you were very quick to use as a virtue-signaling device has made you know the price of everything but the value of nothing.

i can see where your coming from but will we need all those things if the people don't come to the matches and the interest in the club wanes... die hards will always come for the team, no matter what lg. they play in, but walk ups and box sales, the shop etc will begone, the score board will look out of place in non league which is where we are heading if flinuck see's his contract out.

If David Flitcroft thought as much of Carol as she does of him, then he would resign as soon as relegation is confirmed.

if he had any football savvy or was as good as he thinks he is, oh an carol's trust and enthusiasm in him, he would/should have gone even before DC was shown the door...

oh and i'd love to be a fly on the wall when he applies for his next job, after carol comes to her sences...

    They are fanbase wise.

Swindon currently 17th in League 2 . Got nearly 8000 v Harrogate on Saturday. We barely pulled that in v Derby.  Tranmere are 18th and had 5500 v Sutton.

Crowds we could only dream of in that league position. Bear in mind the away fans went on a tandem as well.

if the teams doing well the fans and walkin's will come, if the team isn't doing well but are seen to be trying the fans will turn out, if the fans see the team arn't arsed they will say f*ck em ...

Fans will vote with their feet, the longer she backs Flitcroft the more it will hit her financially. Gates of 3,000 home fans next season will see us struggle and may well force her in to selling the club (not what I want). The longer Flitcroft stays the further the club will sink.

so he needs to go now, before he can have hands on or 2 div. team...

Why are you (and a few others) so obsessed with our backroom setup? There will be few clubs operating old school, and it doesn't affect the playing budget? But it will likely be a long-term project before the various strands start to earn money for the club?  And it may be our club, in our hearts, but it's the Shanahan's money keeping it going!

we are a recent arrived first div. club, we haven't got a billion-air owner - to bankroll us, and we are top heavy in back room staff, hence being championship ready but we are only first div. and now struggling to stay in the first div. As for flitcroft and his staff monitoring players they might be but where are these players? we've needed players to improve our team in 3 windows, there was the lone players who did well for us but had to go back, as RZ's said there's only so much money in the pot its not going on players, its not going on the ground ie the toilets in the Railway paddock 3 months of porta loo's up to date  really? Hamill's toilets the other week a leak, closed for a match... but we are championship ready and the back-room staff are in place, all ready for the second div.

Those are my thoughts too. Make him Head of Football Development and Infrastructure or something like that and then just let the manager get on with signings.

yes somewhere he cant do any damage, how about scouting in russia...

Our owners have also been hampered, due to the lack of investment on the stadium in previous years. Attendances have been less than we expected because the terraces / stands didn't meet H & S standards, so had to operate at lower capacity, consistently reducing the gates and takings!. Fortunately, due to FFP, money spent on ground improvements took nothing away from the team - unlike in Bell's days!

i've said in another post thank you Carol for saving my club from that clown, but if all above is true why the **ck did she splash out on flituck and then  let him splash out on ALL the back room hanger ons? (were they all his buddies at the other clubs he failed at)...

but ah-oh, its her money, she can throw it away how she wants, BUT ITS OUR CLUB, thats suffering.
