It must be hard when all the managers and no doubt players all have media training these days; it often just feels so sanitised and a bit of a waste of time, as a football fan.

Not really true is it? Got to maintain a relationship with the people he's interviewing, and he does ask those questions that people want asking, for instance when Crosby went through his period of not playing strikers he asked him. He asked him if he was under pressure in his job. Sorry, but I know Phil and he puts a lot of time and effort into striking a balance between asking questions and being fair. He can't just go in and ask "why is Ryan Loft <ovf censored>?" because he'll be told not to come back again.
If you think he's bad, listen to the bloke who covers Stoke or McGarry at Crewe who want to be their manager's best mate.
Maybe it's just the clips that get posted online as Radio Stoke doesn't reach down here that don't do him justice. I do like him generally.

Why is Phil bowers no longer doing the post match interviews btw?
Is there any point when he just gives them the answers anyway? Don't think the fella has ever learned what an open question is.
Always asks the same old tripe like "You must be disappointed with that performance" which is of course not even a question.

If anyone's vaguely interested, the Reading fan at my work said that Mighten looked good last night, and was surprised we took him off.
Hopefully "getting some minutes into him" can only help this thoroughly depressing situation.

Any manager worth is money would watch sat and straight away the third goal watch it and go the two culprits of that going in our net won't be playing tonight in fact the lack of commitment in which that goal was scored said it all for me and on my opinion they should never play for the club again the second goal was bad enough a man a footballer turning his back on the ball the third well some folks will say great goal me I'd say whys your CENTRE HALF lying on the floor and the other incumbent slipping at such a bad time
You cannot have people playing for the club who do just for a wage .
These are people who are going be judged by thousands of onlookers watching them .
I've seen so much of these ridiculous goals going in Vales net over the years , that to continue picking players cause they head a ball is ridiculous .
I'm going try enjoy the remaining games (home)then unless I see a team who on the pitch represents my heart my love for Port Vale im not going bother going anymore just pick and choose go on whether we have players leaving everything on the pitch not looking like they couldn't care less and playing like they couldn't care less also which is terrible to me and a form of fraud .

Woman at work who is a Reading fan says they are having a "red card protest" tonight (i.e. all holding up red cards) - I asked if she'd got her tennis balls ready as Vale would really quite like 3 points.

Sorry I struggle to remember his name and struggle with spelling sometimes
Not like it's Szczesny or Błaszczykowski though is it.

Until you & your mate came on here, I had no problem with Huddersfield Town FC.
Even though you are are nothing club, I use to enjoy our away days at Huddersfield but no disrespect, I hope you get relegated this season
Same as the Walsall <ovf censored> who used to constantly moan about DC before he got us promoted

I’m not sure about the gentrification of oatcakes that I am seeing on here. Bacon cheese brown sauce. Occasionally sausage.
I would agree with you, but sometimes you have to try new things!

Just tried a little bit of sriracha with my cheese ones. Definitely one to add to the repertoire. Held off the bacon this time.

Introducing our latest strike force Chorizo & cheese! Most likely to get bums off seats, make you smile & unite this adorable fan base. Whether you like to moan or clap away, i'm kind of in between let's get behind the lads & get the 3 points tomoz. We're all Vale aren't we. Enjoy your weekend guys, stay safe, enjoy the football & look after your families. That's what's important not how many goals Loft has scored in his career. If you can't be happy have an oatcake 👊🏻💙
Is that your special oatcake plate?

Well that was a DAMP SQUID wasn't it.
Lord knows why I bothered staying up til almost midnight in the hope that we'd actually sign a striker. I think the 64x zoom grainy mobile phone shots of scenes inside VP didn't help 😄
Being a fan who has had to follow from afar this season, I had forgotten just how many players we have that are injured, and had even totally forgotten about Mitch Clark!
The striker situation is of course quite worrying. Maybe this Mighten lad will be a bit of a threat up top, especially if he's meant to be a winger, but then as others have said, we don't play with wingers. Maybe AC has had some sort of epiphany and realised that the current formation doesn't often work, but then I think I see a pig flying past my window...
You lot have made me want cheese and bacon oatcakes out the freezer for lunch now... there goes the January diet!

I don't imagine for one second that the loan contract we lodged with the EFL had 1st Feb as the end date, more like next May. If I am correct ( which isn't often !) my question still stands.... Will the EFL hold us to it?
How can they if we've sent him back?!

I guess you have to gamble if you're going to try and land successful younger players but, yeah, you're right. I think Cass would be a much better player now if he'd been given the opportunities and second chances that Balmer had. I'm not party to rumours but I've never heard anything negative about the way Lewis conducts himself, it seems a shame for him to be discarded like this.
Does seem strange, given I seem to remember there being a bit of a fanfare when we signed him.

Just a fact I learnt recently lots of you may know. A certain Mr Harry Kane when he was a youngster, went on loan to Leyton Orient. He now sponsors their shirt and is in his third season
So Harry Kane is "Eastdil Secured", an American real estate firm founded by a chap called Benjamin V Lambert in 1967......... right
