  3. Vale strikers Uche Ikpeazu and Baylee Dipepa challenging in the area in the goalless draw at home to Cambridge. Pic by Tom GreenHello and welcome to our Sunday morning edition of The Valiant for April 28. Vale’s relegation season ended with an afternoon doze as they played out a goalless draw with Cambridge at Vale Park. The game lacked intensity with Vale already relegated and Cambridge knowing a point would keep them up, even before results elsewhere began to go their way. Vale created second-half chances for Uche Ikpeazu and Alex Iacovitti but there wasn’t much to get excited about with focus already on the summer and the rebuilding job for manager Darren Moore as he prepares for League Two. Just a bit about us, we’ll be covering the Vale with at least 150 editions a year from the day you sign up, but your subscription also gives you access to all 112 previous editions in our archive. 19. Keeper Connor Ripley goes over to Vale’s travelling supporters while fans’ favourite Ben Garrity is overcome with emotion as relegation is confirmed. Pic by ShutterstockHello and welcome to our Monday evening edition of The Valiant for April 22. We are looking at the Vale, on and off the pitch, as they prepare for League Two after relegation was confirmed with Saturday’s defeat at Bolton. Vale still have to play one more game this season, at home to Cambridge on Saturday, but the focus has to be on this summer to try to hit the ground running in 2024/25 under Darren Moore. We’ve got the views of promotion winner and pundit Adam Yates and supporters’ club chairman Mark Porter in a bumper edition that also includes plenty more news, analysis, opinion and nostalgia. 22. Connor Ripley keeps the ball out but can’t save Vale from a 2-0 defeat at Bolton and relegation. Pic by Tom Green Hello and welcome to our Sunday morning edition of The Valiant for April 21. Vale will be playing in League Two next season after their relegation was confirmed by a 2-0 defeat at Bolton. Goals from Aaron Collins, on 72 minutes, and Cameron Jerome, on 93, gave Bolton victory against a Vale side who knew they had to at least match Burton’s result at home to Reading to take the relegation fight to the last day. But Burton won 3-2, having taken an early 2-0 lead, and Vale couldn’t get the better of third-placed Bolton despite a battling performance. Vale at least made Bolton work hard for their win and, in truth, their relegation isn’t because of performances like this but because of a dreadful run of just two wins in their last 22 league games. That has cost them their League One status just two years after promotion at Wembley. Just a bit about us, we’ll be covering the Vale with at least 150 editions a year from the day you sign up, but your subscription also gives you access to all 109 previous editions in our archive. There’s currently an offer of £20 (50% off) for your first-year’s subscription which will work out at around 13p an edition over the next 12 months.
