Carol has made some mistakes, but sacking Flitcroft was not one of them.

England won 5-0. Dipepa scored the first goal.

If David Flitcroft thought as much of Carol as she does of him, then he would resign as soon as relegation is confirmed.

No way. You have Smith in the team.

What I want to know is, in line with most businesses, did David Flitcroft have an appraisal by his employers. If so, what did the Vale class as failure which would put his job at stake?

I for one am glad he has deleted his account and although he has posted under guest hope we see the end of his banal posts.

Just looked.
We have the following
Head of Physical Performance
Head of Medical Performance
First Team Head of Analysis
Sports Scientist
First Team Physiotherapist
Sports Therapist
First Team Analyst
A Director of Football
No mention of a recruitment team
This does not include Manager, Assistant Manager and Football Coaches.
Wonder if too many cooks spoil the broth ?

Why with all these do the team tire after 70 minutes? We have the least amount of players of players in our division ( I have not checked other divisions ) who have completed 90 minutes. We also concede a lot of goals late in games. So much for sports scientists, they need sacking as well as Flintcroft.

Leyton Orient have signed a striker yesterday from Cardiff, he left Cardiff under a cloud, but Welles’s sees potential there. So there are players available to sign. If the intent is there.
He is not a striker. He is a defender.

David Flitcroft get out of our club.

We have two analyst coaches at the club who I am sure measure the individual statistics of our players during games and possibly training, but do they check all the statistics of clubs in our division?
We do not score many goals and we all know that without goals we need the defenders to do their job in stopping goals going into our own goal to try to eke out results to get us over the line.
Our director of football said last Thursday at the forum "we are not thinking about relegation and we have three games in hand and we got ten points in December so we will be alright" or words of that effect.
I wish I was as confident as he is, because although we did well points wise in December we did by changing the way we had been playing by going more direct by kicking long to Uche, who held the ball up and brought other players the room to score. Now no Uche (probably out for the season) and I cannot see Loft being able to do the same job.
So back to our need to stop the opposition scoring, our statistics do not look good.
Our goalkeeper save percentage is 67.3%
Only clubs with worse save percentage are :- Carlisle 67.2% / Fleetwood 64.9% / Reading 64.6% / Wycombe 62,5%
Tackles won 216
Team with the next lowest tackles won is Peterborough with 246
Interceptions 172
Only teams with lower interceptions are Bolton with 160 and Cambridge with 166
What these statistics show to me is that we are not strong enough in stopping the opposition in getting chances on our goal. So unless we gets a goalscorer in before the window closes and I can only see us going down.
I am praying I am wrong because Carol does not deserve it.

I would like to think we could make a cheeky bid for Harry Cardwell at Southend. I think he could be a late developer like Paul Mullin. He is a six feet three centre forward who has scored twelve goals this season.

Has anybody told them that the transfer window is open?

Willo has been the most exciting player at Vale for many years and can really get fans off their back side. It is a pleasure watching him. However with the amount of times he is out he makes a very expensive squad member. If Garraty had received the kick that has kept Willo out for the last two months, he would have probably only missed one or two games.
I think for this reason he will not be offered a new contract in January. I don't know if anyone noticed Crosby's body language yesterday at the end of the game. He was going around the players patting them on the back except when JW came up to him he couldn't wait to move on the next player and didn't make eye contact. It was a sign to me that his days are numbered as a Vale player.
For me personally I would keep Willo who could possibly help us to win an extra 20 points this season rather than Crosby who won't.

We have lost five home league games on the bounce. Does anyone know what our longest sequence of home league defeats is? If we lose to Wigan, would that be another unwanted record?
-
To add to everything that has been said before, why when there is only a couple of minutes left, why didn't Crosby use a substitute to help break up play as the club could use an extra substitute in extra time. This was as baffling to me as his other decisions. Or am I wrong?

Dear @rayzer you are one of the most respected Vale fans, what is your view on the current set football wise,, Flickers, AC etc
I have to say at the moment I am ambivalent about the whole situation. If Andy Crosby has had a say in the players we have signed then it is down to him to play them to their strengths. I know we got lucky at the start of the season with some results (Barnsley apart) but I enjoyed us playing across the back until their was an opening and usually Ripley would find Ojo or Arblaster to create chances. Since we have had Uche or Loft in the team we knock it about as before but then Ripley just launches it to the strikers who are not good enough to bring other players in to play. That style of change in play is down to Crosby and a manager who makes so many mistakes in recruitment and structure has to pay the price.
On the other side of the coin is that I think that Crosby was appointed because he wanted to be number one in his own right for the first time in his career and has gone along with Flitcroft's own ideas of how he wants a team to play. If I am right, and there is no way of really knowing, and that Flitcroft has the full responsibility of who we sign, with also an input of our style of play (which he alludes to} then we could have Pep in charge and we would only fail because if you can't score goals you will only go one way and that is relegation. Sadly I think that is where we are going to be relegated and it is such a shame that after all the hard work and money Carol has put in we could end up back in the 2nd Division.
Unless you really know how the management structure is working at the club then how can you say which one is most culpable for our long run without a win in the league.
We need to try to move on both Loft and Uche in January if we could find a club more desperate than us to maybe Exeter, Cheltenham or a team in a lower division and with other outgoing put the money into one good goal scorer. It is not good enough Flitcroft saying we can't afford one. We have to. There is a saying, if you cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. We simply must find a goal scorer in January or we will get relegated.
Carol knows the structure so it is down to her if we lose today and if we do then one or all of them could be gone.

He said that the strikers we were after are playing in the Championship. He said the same last season and I did try to check all the transfers and couldn't find any that moved to a Championship club. If it is true then Flitcroft needs to name names.

I don't think Moore will walk.It appears that he has been told that when we go down we will find the money for a promotion push, so, it is only my assumption, that he isn't bothered about us going down with players that are not his. Let's face it he would not be able to do much with the club in the first division but it would look good on his cv with a promotion from the second division.
