read the first line of both your posts again  , and  look at your answer  , you seem to conveniently omit SOME  words “ what the hell has ranting on a forum at times got to do with ( WHAT GOES ON INSIDE ) a football stadium “  unbelievable, thought that was mainly the point of the forum.

    CROSBY , who’s on about him ?

1 - What can't you believe? What has a forum got to do with a football stadium?

2 - Yes, very serious. Despite me never wanting Crosby in the first place, I gave him plenty of credit at the beginning of the season. For just one example.

3 - Exactly. The squad has being embarrassing, with some players even worse than others.

What the hell has ranting on a forum at times got to do with what goes on inside a football stadium? I've said multiple times that I don't boo or shout abuse at players inside a stadium, and neither do I condone it in regards to those that do. Whether you choose to believe that or not, that's not really my concern as it makes little difference either way. I'm the first to give praise here when it's due and nobody ever has an issue with that. But what praise have the staff and players collectively deserved over the last few months?

“ what the hell ranting on a forum has to do with what goes on in a football stadium “    Well I I truly cannot believe  that you have made that statement.

“You are the first to give praise when it’s due ,and nobody ever has an issue with that”  . Are you serious ?

“ what praise have the staff and players collectively deserved over the last few months” .They deserve no praise and I don’t know anyone whohas given them any .

I'm not talking about everyone on this thread. But there are a number of people who constantly refuse to accept any form of criticism that's directed at the owners, managers and even the players. Instead preferring to spout crap about getting behind the boys and trying to patronise anyone that dares not shower Carol and co with nothing but praise and admiration.

I didn’t  like what’s gone on many times before ,Ive marched with the black and gold and protested , and I don’t like what is going on now . BUT PLEASE  tell me what are YOU PERSONALLY ,going to do about this predicament i look forward to hearing your ideas , probably make things better by shouting abuse from the the terrace , then turn up hypocritically for the next game ,or are you not  going to be a Vale fan because we got relegated ?  I’ve seen this many times before, I think 7 promotions and this could be my 8th relegation since I’ve been going to watch my team , I’ve seen some shyte down the vale some real shyte , you choose to slag off all and sundry here on a forum , I may think the same as you but I don’t do this , it achieves ABSOLUTELY NOTHING  ,so does that make me a “happy clapper “ or a just a Vale fan …….till I die.

Conor Wickham would be way ahead of Gayle in my list. Scored a good amount for a shocking team in this league last year. Gayle hasn't scored for at least a year, and was rumoured to be on 40k at stoke. Even at a 10th of that we'd be killing our budget for a player who hasn't done it for a long while.

Granted, anyone's better than no one at this point.

Sjokes best payed player reportedly on 28kperweek , Gayle on about 7.5k per wk . Could Moore get him for half the wage for 3 months?

Has that come off him? not a dig just wondering where that info is from as it was Alan Nixon who said he was one of the highest paid players in League One and they want him off their wage bill

Looked up on sport pay , while at Derby , Marriot was on 18k a week for the time he was there ,he moved to Peterborough on just over 5k and then to Fleetwood on 4k .

Reportedly one of the highest paid players in League One........ so chances are zero on that one

Marriot apparently on just over 4k a week , not even in Fleetwoods top 3 earners.

I do agree let's see on Feb 1st but...

Arblaster > Jenson Weir. Unproven loan replacement replacing our probably best player this season so far
Devine > Gore probably coming in. Unproven loan replacement replacing arguably our best player in December
Balmer > Williams = proven not good enough, unproved loan replacement
    Thomas > no replacement yet
    Conlon > no replacement yet

I don't think you can argue we are replacing departing players with better permanent signings because we haven't made a permanent signing so far. Balmer wasn't good enough so his replacement is potentially better already. The other two might be better than what we had, or they might not.

Like I say, I am waiting until Feb 1st to really judge things but I really hope we do improve our squad for the second half of the season.

Weren’t Arblaster and Devine unproven when they came here ?  Then you say Williams and Gore unproven ,

We lost v Middlesbrough by an unlucky deflection, bad mistake in possession at the back and letting a player come inside and shoot. We were lucky that Balmer didn't gift them more goals before the manager subbed him.

The stats are we had 39% possession making 4 shots with 1 on target. That's not going to win games. But Middlesbrough need some credit. You could see they had good defenders and showed it in the way they blocked crosses off. They only made one big mistake and it was Massey who just couldn't keep down the hard hit cross reaching out close to the line.

Middlesbrough dominated possession. 618 passes. What stood out for me watching from Lorne Street was they were technically superior by quite a distance in controlling and manipulating the ball. They also had better player movement in the team to receive the ball in play. They could play quicker than PV in possession because of these factors.

Middlesbrough were happy to make sure PV didn't harm them and did this by simply keeping possession. But their attacking stats are 10 shots, 5 on target and 3 goals. So they were potent.

I can't say whether their great superiority is simply better players with more talent. Or whether better coaching plays a significant part. What did strike me, and worry me a bit, is that Walters looked out of his depth when he came on. So the point I'm making is he would improve much quicker and to a higher level at Middlesbrough.

If we are going to keep the players we bringing through and progress as a club we need coaching to be at Championship level. I don't see that presently at team level or individual level.

Totally agree there Warren . I would say that their greater superiority WAS down to far better players with more talent , confirmed by their 22m budget , and 17 players on over 10k a week ( top earner 45k) . However a goal or half decent performance by the Vale would have been ok with some of us .

Perhaps this not playing a recognised striker is the way forward, onwards and upwards, really looking forward to the Boro game on Tuesday, shame I can’t be there but I’ll be watching it in Spain.

Maybe not subbing your best players helps .

So should I praise the players and staff instead on the back of a 7-0 loss? In life we all get praised sometimes and we also all get criticized at times. I'm not foaming at the mouth spouting abuse at games, or protesting. In my opinion, those who only comment when they feel somebody or something is worthy of praise here is the definition of a happy clapper. They have a right to be like that, just as those that pay money to help the club have a right to criticize as long as it's not over the top.

Read the first few words of my post .IAM AGREEING WITH YOU.

where do I say you should praise the players?

where do I say you are foaming at the mouth spouting abuse at games or protesting ?
Where do I say you don’t have the right to criticise .?
Cant you understand that the majority of my criticisms of the club I choose not to post on a forum ,where’as you do . FFS.

Much better. My eyes thank you for it. I was giving praise at the beginning of pre-season as I liked the signings we were making. I'm not going to waste my own time searching through my previous posts, but you're welcome to do that. What has there been to praise since? Us getting a new scoreboard? Pre-season was terrible. To score two goals (one a penalty) against three teams lower in the leagues than us wasn't just something to be ignored because it was pre-season. It was clear evidence that we were still massively lacking as an attack going into the new season. Add to that us not bringing in a striker for X number of weeks and then ending up with a completely unproven kid and James Wilson re-signing, a player who has has only a handful of goals to his name in League One, and then losing the first game 7-0 which is an absolute piss take (as was the team selection) then I feel I should be forgiven for not showering the club and it's players and staff with ravishing praise for the time being.

Sensible post , that’s  exactly how i see it too , it’s just that Idon’t slag people off, bad mouth everyone , and criticise the staff and club I support  ON A FORUM , can’t see the point of it all ,then turning up to watch them next game .

As for the Hussey fit , think that’s all yours
