Ben Whitfield makes a flying start
The former Valiant had a flying start to his career at new club Torquay United. Having left Vale Park on Tuesday afternoon, Whitfield was named on the bench for Torquay’s game against Woking that evening. He came on and duly netted the equalising goal with a rare header. Torquay assistant boss Aaron Downes said: “I’m not sure he scores too many like that, but it was great for him to come off the bench and score such an important one..”
Anton Forrester drops down to non-league
After an injury plagued spell with the Valiants, the former Blackburn Rovers forward (right) has dropped down to the Northern Premier League to appear for Radcliffe Borough.
