Ellis Harrison is released
Ellis Harrison has been released by League Two side MK Dons. The forward was signed by Darrell Clarke for the Valiants and scored eleven times in 36 games. He subsequently joined MK Dons where he spent the second-half of last season on loan with Walsall. He scored 13 times in 59 appearances for Milton Keynes.
Hannant sweeps Gateshead awards
Former Vale winger Luke Hannant was voted the players player of the season and supporters player of the season at National League side Gateshead FC. He also won the Goal of the Season award and the Golden Boot for scoring 16 times. Now 31, Hannant was signed by Neil Aspin for the Valiants and scored four times in 63 appearances.
Ripley offered deal by Swindon
Former Vale goalkeeper Connor Ripley has been offered a new deal by League Two side Swindon Town. The goalkeeper started this season as number for the Valiants before losing his place to Ben Amos. He subsequently joined Town on a short-term deal in the January window.
Mixed fortunes for Valiants in the National League
Devante Rodney’s goal was not enough as National League side Rochdale exited the play-offs. The striker scored twice against Southend United but it was not enough as the visitors triumphed 4-3 to reach the semi-final stages. Also into the semi-finals are Oldham Athletic who are packed with former Valiants. Tom Pett and Charlie Raglan started while Tom Conlon came off the bench as they beat Halifax Town, with former Valiant Sam Johnson in goal, 4-0.
