The summer trialist signed a one-year deal with the club in August 2024. John had progressed through the Everton junior ranks but without making a senior appearance.

The versatile defender is able to play in the right-back or left-back positions.

Manager Darren Moore told the official website: “I am delighted to welcome Kyle into our squad officially as we enter the 2024/25 season. He has been with us for a few weeks now where we have been able to have a good look at him both in training and in competitive games. He is energetic, he is combative and possesses good quality on the ball.”

He made his professional debut in a League Cup tie at Barrow in August 2024. John impressed on either flank during his debut season and was rewarded by being named the club’s young player of the year. A contract extension was duly triggered in the summer.

His second season was an even greater personal success. He scored his first goal for the club and was also named the club’s player of the year.
