Port Vale add former trialist Kyle John to their squad

Port Vale have announced the signing of former trialist Kyle John on the eve of the season.

The Valiants needed to shore-up the right side of defence following an unfortunate injury to first-choice Mitch Clark. John is able to play in either the right or left-back positions. He has signed a one-year deal and has been allocated the number 24 shirt.

John has been on trial with the club for a number of weeks making his debut in Vale’s friendly match against Bath City.

Manager Darren Moore told the official website: “I am delighted to welcome Kyle into our squad officially as we enter the 2024/25 season. He has been with us for a few weeks now where we have been able to have a good look at him both in training and in competitive games. He is energetic, he is combative and possesses good quality on the ball.”
