Transfer-listed Port Vale striker Theo Robinson was spotted in the stands for Colchester United’s League Cup game against Birmingham City on Tuesday evening.
Robinson was one of three players transfer listed in the summer and Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke has made it clear that the trio have no future at the club.
The forward finished the 2019-20 season as Colchester’s top scorer with 12 goals, following his loan spell from Southend United. However, his first season at Vale Park was less successful with the striker dropped from Vale’s league squad at one point.
He has been linked with a return to Colchester over the summer and this appearance will only increase the speculation.
According to the Daily Gazette:
Theo Robinson sparked transfer speculation after attending Colchester United’s game at Birmingham City.
The former U’s loanee – who has been linked with a return to the club in the current transfer window – joined Colchester’s travelling support in watching the Carabao Cup first-round tie from the away end, at St Andrew’s.
The newspaper added:
Robinson was clearly a popular presence among U’s fans, who chanted ‘Theo, Theo!’ upon recognising the striker was with them in the crowd.
