Port Vale manager Jon Brady said he was delighted with the attitude of his players during the 1-0 win over Leyton Orient and in particular captain Ben Garrity.
I didn’t want him to do the full 90 but there was no way he was coming off. That is the mark of the man…
Garrity played the whole 90 minutes after returning from a lengthy injury break and was instrumental in the victory. Brady told the media: “I was quite worried to be honest. I didn’t want him to do the full 90 but there was no way he was coming off. That is the mark of the man.”
The Vale manager also praised the rest of the team. The manager has been reshaping his squad in the January window and pointedly commenting that he only wants players who want to play for the Vale. That was certainly the case on Saturday with the attitude and application unquestionable. Brady told the press: “All the guys on the bench and all the guys who started today are really ones I know – and can put my hand on my heart – they will give everything for this club.”

Let’s carry this attitude & commitment to every game now. Good Luck all 😉
Form is as good as any one else in the bottom 9, better than most. Two games in hand and getting rid of the players that don’t want to be there doesn’t sound as bleak as its being painted. 18 games to go, Season starts now.
Please don’t say anything good about ya players or we’ll have plymouth after him well done lads come on keep going forward let show just what we can do you were amazing Saturday love the vale
How refreshing was it to see Ben back on the pitch. He is one fully committed pro footballer and what we could do with one or two more of his calibre. Rightfully owns that captains armband. Thanks Ben for making me proud to be a Vale fan.
Why isn’t George Hall playing?
