Port Vale have announced that wingback Mitch Clark has agreed a new deal with the club.
The contract appears to be a one year contract with an option to be extended. The club say it is a one year which will see the player stay “until at least the end of our 150th anniversary campaign.”
Clark was in impressive form at the end of last season but faces renewed competition in League One after the club added Jordan Gabriel to their squad. The Valiants also have Kyle John as a further right wingback option.
The 26 year-old is in his fourth spell with the club having previously spent three loan spells with the club. He is just two games away from his hundredth appearance for the club.
Manager Darren Moore told the official website: “He’s a popular player among the supporters and someone we think very highly of, so it’s great that he will be remaining part of the group as we prepare for the club’s return to League One.”

Glad Mitch Clarke has signed it will keep a lot of the Lady supporters Happy
Great news to hear your staying at Vale, good luck stay fit and earn a regular place in the squad, keep believing in your self, up the Vale
Bit of a strange one this, I was told Clark wasn’t happy with Vale’s offer of a one year deal with an additional year dependant on appearances, then Vale on X announced on Saturday that Clark had signed a two year deal ??
well done
Moore continues with his uneven handed treatment of players. While I can understand with him being concerned about players with injury prone careers, and not wanting to give them long term contracts. Then why have Byers and Headley not been treated the same? As for Clark staying, brilliant news. His attitude and drive was there for everyone to see and at times turned games around.
Good to see Mitch sign for another year, but as ever confusing why he was not offered 2years. Steady player and looking good cover all round at the back. Can’t understand only offered 1 year as he only in his mid twenties and steady as they come. As had share of injuries but comes back and gives his all for the Vale.
At 26 I would have thought a 2 year would be in order. Okay Mitch as had injuries but he plays more games than the likes of Grant, Wilson etc. Good clubman and so mobile and worthy of being a good defender. Keep Going Mitch .
