Port Vale completed the signing of experienced striker Devante Cole on deadline day 2025. It ended weeks of speculation linking the Valiants with the forward.

Cole has vast experience after spells with Fleetwood Town, Barnsley and Motherwell to name just three of his former clubs.

Manager Darren Moore said: “We’re delighted to have secured Devante’s signature – he’s a player that had plenty of interest from various clubs but has ultimately chosen to be part of what we’re building here at Port Vale. He is a player with wonderful attributes, including a proven ability for scoring goals, and we’re all really pleased to have him on board.”

The striker scored on his full debut – a 3-2 home loss to Leyton Orient. Cole proved to be a more than capable goalscorer but he left to join Luton in the January 2026 transfer window with Vale bottom of the table. It brought a rapid end to his brief Vale stint.
