“Every possibility” – huge injury boost as key Port Vale man is declared fit
It’s worrying times for Port Vale fans as a defeat to Cheltenham Town plunges them to third bottom in the table, but the club could soon see a key player return from injury.
They are both fit and back in training on Monday so let’s have a look…
Vale’s problems upfront and scoring are well documented so new manager Darren Moore will be delighted if top scorer Ben Garrity returns to the side. Garrity is an attacking midfielder by trade but has also played upfront – and so he would offer welcome support and competition to senior strikers James Wilson and Ryan Loft.
Garrity has reached double figures this season – his tally stands at eleven so far – but he has been ruled out since early January with a calf injury.
However, Moore confirmed to the media that Garrity and fellow player Mitch Clark are both back in full training and in contention for the key match against Reading in midweek. Moore commented: “They are both fit and back in training on Monday so let’s have a look, see where they are and how they fare in that training session. There is every possibility.”
The return of Mitch Clark will also be a boost to the Valiants. Vale have struggled in the wingback positions with a number of players tried out on both flanks. The former Accrington man has been out of action since October.

Good job Ben Garrity was injured ,Flitcroft would probably have sold him in January. If he and Mitch Clarke are fit though they would be a very welcome return.

Can we have Mitch Clarke playing in a back four at right back with Massey or Plant in front of him
Let’s get rid of this wing back nonsense
It doesn’t work as proven for the majority of the season

Smells of desperation by Flitcroft. Wake up Carol, all 3 managers who Flitcroft has advised you to sack can’t all be rubbish. Look closer to home ! How is anyone expected to keep the club up when they only have academy kids and young loanees on the bench.

As long as Darron Moor picks the team and not flickoff we could have a chance of staying up
