“It’s always a tough game” – Ben Garrity on Vale’s festive programme
Goalscoring midfielder Ben Garrity says that all the fixtures over the festive period will be tricky because it’s “such a tough League.”
It’s tough games but this is why we’re in this League because we look forward to playing in them. We just need to make sure we perform on the day…
Speaking ahead of Vale’s trip to strugglers Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday the midfielder told the media: “I don’t think I’ve played a single game in this League since last season (when Vale were promoted) and thought that it was easy, no matter what team you play even if the team’s down the bottom it’s always a tough game because it’s such a tough League.
“The demand’s as high as you’re playing every Saturday, Tuesday. People pull up with injuries which obviously ends up putting a bit more demand on other players when the gaffer wants to rotate the team. It’s tough games but this is why we’re in this League because we look forward to playing in them. We just need to make sure we perform on the day.”
Speaking about his nine goals this season Garrity added: “Playing a different position. Last season I played nearly all season as a six, this year I have played a variety of positions but mainly further forward. I think that always gives you the opportunity to get things in the box.”
“I enjoyed last season so much but it was different I was deeper. I’m learning loads (this season) and I’m enjoying it. The two League wins were much needed.”
