Port Vale defender potentially ruled out until March after operation
Port Vale have suffered an injury blow after manager Andy Crosby announced that wingback Mitch Clark could face three to four months out of action.
Clark was a summer signing although he was already well-known to Vale fans after three previous loan spells. He signed a two-year deal with the club in July 2023.
However, his permanent spell has been a stop-start affair and he now had an operation after being injured during Vale’s home defeat to Peterborough United on October 24th.
Clark has made twelve appearances in League and Cup and his ability to cover both the right and left wingback positions was invaluable but now Vale will be without his services until the New Year. With fellow wingback Conor Grant also injured, it leaves Vale short of cover and competition on the flanks.
In his post-match press conference, Manager Andy Crosby revealed that Mitch Clark will be out of action for between 3-4 months following an operation.
