Darrell Clarke – I’d like to thank the Port Vale fans after the game
Cheltenham Town manager Darrell Clarke has shared his thoughts as he prepares to make his first return to Vale Park since he was dismissed as Port Vale manager.
Clarke takes his Cheltenham Town players to Burslem on Saturday afternoon and he says it will be an opportunity to thank the Vale fans.
It’ll be nice for me to thank them for the support they gave me over the two years. When you leave a club you do so very quickly and you don’t get an opportunity to so I’d like to thank the fans after the game…
Clarke told the local media: “It’ll be nice for me to thank them for the support they gave me over the two years. When you leave a club you do so very quickly and you don’t get an opportunity to so I’d like to thank the fans after the game but I want to be thanking them after we put on a really good away performance.
“I’m going there to win, that’s in my mentality, that’s the way I approach it. I’m sure we’ll share a beer after the game. It’s not about me, it’s about how the team performs.”

Crosby needs to wake up, after the Peterborough game he finally mentioned playing 2 up from the start, genius I thought looking at our goal difference. Come on Vale, keep the faith.
