Port Vale rumour: journalist claims Port Vale are interested in Tranmere defender
Popular journalist Alan Nixon says that Port Vale are one of four clubs trying to sign a Tranmere Rovers defender.
According to Nixon, Bristol Rovers, Burton Albion, Lincoln City and the Valiants are all interested in Josh Dacres-Cogley.
The 27 year-old defender is out of contract at the end of this month.
Nixon reports that Bristol Rovers are the latest club to show an interest with Burton, Lincoln and Vale all having a long-term interest in signing the player.
He has been on the books of Tranmere Rovers for the past two seasons and has been a key player for the Merseyside outfit, making 100 appearances in all competitions.
The Valiants are on the look out for reinforcements after losing the likes of Tom Pett, James Wilson, David Worrall and Jamie Proctor at the end of the last season.
