On loan Port Vale goalkeeper eyes permanent move
Port Vale’s Lucas Covolan, who is currently on loan at National League Chesterfield, has said he is “100%” open to moving to the side.
Covolan, lost his place last season after receiving his second red card of the campaign, and was allowed to move on loan to Chesterfield on a season-long deal. That move will take him to the end of his contract with Port Vale and any chance of a return to the Potteries seems highly unlikely.
The game that we play fits me perfectly so I am more than happy to be staying here. I have settled in very, very good…
When asked about his future at Vale, Covolan told the local media: “No, I don’t know.”
However, he was keen to stay with the Spireites adding: “I came here to do my best and to be the best goalie in the league, to be the best goalie that they can have at Chesterfield. Hopefully we can achieve something good this season.”
When asked if he was keen to join the club on a permanent basis he added: “Yes, 100 per cent. The game that we play fits me perfectly so I am more than happy to be staying here. I have settled in very, very good.”
Covolan got off to a rocky start when he was sent off on his debut for Chesterfield but has since regained his place as the club’s number one. Ironically, Vale have replaced the Brazilian with a loanee of their own in Oxford’s Jack Stevens.

Is Lucas’s time up at Vale Park? Sadly yes, because although he is probably the best of the three, DC will never forgive him for last seasons cock-ups.
I hope he does make a successful move and gets promotion with Chesterfield.

He’s the kind of keeper who makes you nervous every time he touches the ball
