Former Valiants – Devante Rodney moves on
Former Port Vale striker Devante Rodney has left Walsall after less than six months at the club.
The forward moved from Vale Park to the Saddlers in the January transfer window for an undisclosed fee. However, he failed to score in 14 appearances for the club.
Rodney was brought in by former Vale manager John Askey and was a success during his first season with the club, ending as top-scorer with twelve goals.
Rodney has joined League Two side Rochdale on a two-year deal. He told the official Rochdale website: “Last season didn’t go to plan for me so I’ve got a lot of fire in my belly for this season and now I really want to push on.”
