We’re winning a home game away from Wembley – Port Vale manager on play-off showdown
Port Vale manager Darrell Clarke says the team need to be “at it” in their play-off second-leg game, but the “big positive” from the first-leg is we’re “winning a home game away from Wembley.”
The Valiants play Swindon Town on Thursday evening and will aim to turn around a 2-1 deficit from the first-leg in front of the club’s biggest crowd of the season.
You have to be ready, prepared mentally for everything and we’ll see what tomorrow night brings…
Clarke told the media: “The big positive from the game is we’re a home game away from Wembley, winning a home game.
“We haven’t turned up in enough of the bigger games but you have to learn from that and produce better. We have to be at it with the ball and without the ball.
“You have to be ready, prepared mentally for everything and we’ll see what tomorrow night brings.”
Clarke also said he was keen to win promotion for everyone at the club adding: “I really want to do it for the people at the club. I think what we’ve been through this season together – the owners, the fans, the player the support staff, I really want to do it for them not for personal accolades.”
