Port Vale delay ticket sales for home leg as they mull options
Port Vale have announced that there will be a delay in tickets going on sale for the highly anticipated play-off semi-final home leg fixture against Swindon Town at Vale Park.
One consideration may be the size of the away supporters allocation. Users on the OVF forum have pointed out that the away ticketing numbers for the fixture at the County Ground are likely to be fewer than the initial 4,500 away seats that would have been on sale at Vale Park. With the overall capacity of Vale Park stadium restricted to 14,500, it would seem reasonable to increase the percentage of home seats available in order to maximise the advantage of a home game.
Another possibility would be whether Port Vale can increase the overall capacity for the ground. There have been empty seats in several home stands despite tickets being “sold-out” due to safety considerations and it could be that the club will look to see if there is any way the attendance can be increased for the club’s most important game in nine years.
A club statement said:
Following a planning meeting with the board, the club are looking at alternative ticketing arrangements for our Sky Bet League Two play-off semi-final against Swindon Town – as a result tickets will no longer go on sale at 9am tomorrow morning (Monday 9th May), but will be available as soon as arrangements are confirmed. The date and kick off time of the fixture will remain unaffected.
If you think the Valiants have a good chance of progressing in the play-offs then you may want to consider a Bet with 1win promo code and see how you fare with your punt.
More details on the club’s decision regarding the Swindon game will be made available on this site as soon as we find out more from Port Vale FC.
