Media provide reason for Port Vale loanee’s absence
The Oxfordshire media have said that Joel Cooper’s absence from the Port Vale squad in recent weeks has been because the player has returned to his native Northern Ireland.
Loanee Cooper has not been named in a Port Vale match squad since the win over Bradford City on the 19th March.
The Oxford Mail reports that Cooper has agreed to leave his parent club Oxford United in the summer in order to return to his native Northern Ireland.
The winger was loaned to the Valiants in January in a deal which was set to run until the end of the season but it appears that the move was cut short after the player returned home. The Mail reports:
Cooper was loaned to Sky Bet League Two club Port Vale in January and played six times, the last coming against Colchester United on March 5.
He then returned to Northern Ireland again and has now agreed to leave the U’s by mutual consent.
Cooper made six appearances for the Valiants during his time at the club.
