We look forward to the build-up but it’s back to business and we want to try and progress into League One through the play-offs…
Following an extended stay away after a close family bereavement, Clarke made a welcome return to the Vale dug-out for the crucial victory against Exeter City – a result which enabled the Valiants to claim a play-off place.
Talking to the media ahead of the Swindon game, Clarke said: “I think a lot of people would have took that (a place in the play-offs) at the start of the season. I always want more ‘cos I’m greedy.
“I think the way the club’s represented itself, the way it’s performed, for the majority of the season everybody’s given everything and we want to continue to do that for the play-offs.
“We look forward to the build-up but it’s back to business and we want to try and progress into League One through the play-offs.
“We have that togetherness and spirit and we want to build on that and try and progress through the play-offs.”
All Port Vale fans will be hoping that the manager is right and the club can indeed secure promotion back into League One.
