A big, forward-thinking club – new signing’s opinion of Port Vale
New Port Vale signing Chris Hussey has told the media his reasons for leaving League One side Cheltenham Town in order to move to the Valiants.
They are a big, forward-thinking club with a good infrastructure that are having a bit of a go and they’ve gone above and beyond to get me…
Hussey completed a January transfer window move this week and he told the local press that his reasons for joining the Valiants were: “Vale offered me a deal that I couldn’t turn down, especially at the age of 33 and they are a big, forward-thinking club with a good infrastructure that are having a bit of a go and they’ve gone above and beyond to get me.
“Cheltenham said they wanted to keep me, but they didn’t do anything to try and keep me.”
Hussey’s comments also reveal how the club looks after their staff as he revealed he was given time off which he has used to say “goodbye” to his teammates and also to relax ahead of his move.
He added: “I had breakfast with the boys, collected all my stuff and said goodbye to everyone. Vale have given me today off and I am going to a spa with my missus.”
