Boost for Port Vale as veteran defender resumes training
Port Vale have received a boost with the news that veteran defender Leon Legge has returned to training.
The 36 year old centre-half started the season in good form but was sidelined with a knee injury during the 1-1 draw at Stevenage.
Legge’s return will boost Darrell Clarke’s defensive options although it is too soon to expect him to return to action in the near future. Legge’s injury was expected to keep him out till Christmas, so the veteran is most likely to be still a few weeks away from first-team contention.
Nevertheless, the return of the defender will be a welcome boost as the Valiants seek to continue their fine League form after two cup matches – this weekend’s FA Cup fixture against Accrington and a midweek Football League Trophy game against Liverpool B.
The club tweeted about his return to training saying:
How good is it to see this man back in training after his injury?
