What a squad! Lloyd and Taylor(back to his best again) caused all kinds of problems after they came on. I’ve just got home, excellent journey back singing all the way. Support again brilliant and at the end you only had to see the faces of the whole squad as they applauded the fans. Great times…

For the first time in a while we seem to have players who can affect a game with their movement, a pass, a cross or a goal. Taylor, Lloyd and Amoo all came on to affect the game and see us over the line…

That feeling from the last few seasons that we’re very reliant on one or two players at any given time (e.g. Pope, Brown or Worrall) is gone, however outstanding certain individuals in our current squad, including Conlon, might be. I think collectively, across all areas of the club, we’re in as good a place as we’ve been this century…

Jake Taylor now looks a totally different player to the one who came back to us last season, he now has got back the silky touch and bit of pace he had, he looks far more confident now when he comes on…

DC’s man management means that, if you’re not playing, you have to show that you should be when you get the chance. Politic was held back until his fitness was good, then he was given little cameos to prove himself. Amoo is doing the same now, as is Taylor…

Fantastic win. Love a comeback! Just brilliant from our captain Tom Conlon to get us back in the game. From that point I always thought we get chances, and we emphatically put them away…
Boslem’s Brazil
Good to see people talking positive about different players shows we have both strength in depth and every area of the pitch. I do like to see Jake Taylor on the pitch and all this without Super David Worrall…

Lloyd was great today… a real outlet and I love his terrier style…
Iron Curtain
Lloyd has been fouled twice for both of Conlon’s free kick goals and his harassing and harrying helped with the winner at Swindon…

Lloyd has his uses. He’s aggressive and pacy, and denied by a great save from a good keeper. Well worth a place on the bench…

Can we run a poll now to see how many are still clinging to the belief that we should have kept the likes of Pope, Joyce, Brisley and Montano now? Unbelievable recruitment and retention in the summer by DC and DF…

I think any long suffering Port Vale fan will be enjoying this season so far, sometimes when the starting 11 is announced you could be forgiven for thinking what is going on but it would seem that the management know exactly what they are doing. You only have to look at the league table to reassure yourself that all is well. A cheeky test on Saturday against Accrington Stanley but I am sure that we can rise to the challenge. Well done to the owners, management and of course the players at Port Vale Football Club.

I am really enjoying this season as Vale have occasions when they are well worth watching and appreciating. There is no point in me mentioning particular players as they are all contributing to our success.
There is however just one downside matter to mention. If you look at Crawley’s goal you will observe that the scorer is surrounded by four or five Vale defenders and yet is allowed to get in perfect position for the cross and have a free header into the net. This should not have been allowed to happen and I hope DC is looking at the situation and drawing it to the attention of those concerned in the incident. Otherwise, what a great time we are all having, may it continue for the rest of the season. UTV.
