We are in a good place – Port Vale coach after win at Crawley Town
Port Vale coach Andy Crosby said that he felt the team was in a “good place” after the 4-1 comeback win at Crawley Town.
The Valiants trailed at the break 1-0 to the host’s ten men, but a strong second-half comeback saw Vale run out 4-1 winners.
At half time, the gaffer’s mindset was about staying calm and what could we change to influence the game…
Crosby told the media: “I thought we started the game really well, on the front foot and had real control of the game.
“I think the sending off affected us more than them. I think our play became a little bit slow and a little bit predictable.
“We were happy to keep playing in front and didn’t penetrate their last line. They scored from the one attack they had in the first half, which was obviously really frustrating for us.
“But we had opportunities, their keeper made some saves, so I think at half time, the gaffer’s mindset was about staying calm and what could we change to influence the game.”
The Vale’s second-half performance was much improved with Crosby adding: “When we scored early, it took the pressure off a little bit because we are back in the game. I thought some of our play in the second half was outstanding. It was good to watch from the sidelines, and we are in a good place.”
