Tom Scott player profile
Young goalkeeper Tom Scott joined Port Vale FC on a contract until the end of the 2020-21 season on January 25th 2021. The Valiants had suffered an injury to back-up goalkeeper Dino Visser and needed a reliable understudy to first choice Scott Brown.
Scott had played for Man City’s U21 side in the Football League Trophy making two appearances during the 2018-19 season against Crewe Alexandra and Barnsley.
Scott was at Manchester City for the last five years, having joined them from hometown club Leeds United in 2015 and played through the age groups at the Etihad before he was released at the end of the 2019-20 season.
Since his release the player has had trials with Watford and Birmingham City before opting to join the Valiants.
After signing, Scott told the official Port Vale website: “I feel more than ready and I’m confident in myself and my abilities to do what I need to at this level.”
He was named on the bench for the majority of the final part of the 2020-21 season but failed to make a senior appearance before being released.
