Here’s our latest round-up of news concerning former Port Vale players and coaches…
Sinclair moves to Doncaster Rovers
Former Port Vale academy coach Frank Sinclair has joined League One side Doncaster Rovers in a similar position. Sinclair left his role at Vale Park at the end of last season. He told the Rovers official website: “I am excited about the future and where it can take us. The goal for me is to help get as many players as possible through to the first-team.”
JJ Hooper training with Hartlepool Utd
Former Port Vale striker JJ Hooper is training with League Two rivals Hartlepool United. Hooper is a free agent after leaving Barnet in the summer. United are looking for a new striker and any deal for Hooper could see him line-up with another former Vale player in Mark Cullen.
Keeper Scott finds new club
Former Valiants keeper Tom Scott has found a new club. Scott was brought in as cover last season after an injury to Dino Visser but was released without making a senior appearance. Scott has now signed for National League side AFC Halifax Town where he will compete with former Valiant Sam Johnson for the goalkeeper’s jersey.
Host of former Valiants feature for Hanley Town
A number of former Port Vale players featured in Hanley Town’s 1-1 FA Cup third qualifying round draw with Brackley Town.
