Taken from the special promotion booklet to celebrate the 1970 promotion, this photograph shows Gordon Lee’s side celebrating their promotion to the Third Division. Vale finished in fourth place with 59 points, three points clear of fifth place. Only seventeen players were used all season, whilst eight barely missed a game between them.
