Photo Essay: seats are added to Port Vale’s Lorne Street stand in 1999
In this series we take a look at particularly memorable images from our OVF photo archives – this is a vintage snap of seats being installed in the Lorne Street stand

It’s an ironic coincidence we came across this image in our scrapbooks. At time of writing, some twenty one years after this photograph was taken, the second batch of seats to complete the Lorne Street stand are finally being installed. The original batch, shown in the photo below, were installed in the summer of 1999 ahead of the club’s opening home fixture – a game against West Bromwich Albion.
