Just fantastic. Legge and Smith were superb, Worrall was outstanding, where does he get the energy from? All the Vale players played well, if Vale can play with this intensity and add consistency then the play-offs are a distinct possibility.

I thought we played well and Popey’s experience was vital second-half. Legge and Smiffy were immense but there was no weak links.

We were marginally the better side today. I think we are starting to look absolutely solid at the back. One goal conceded from open play in the last three games.

No doubt Artell will have seen a different match and say they were the best team out there and should have taken the three points by miles. It was a tight game and could have gone either way, I’m just glad it went our way.

Great win – to go to Bradford and Crewe and come back with six points was beyond my expectations.  Well done lads, and well done to the Vale fans who were booming it out of the away end.

Hopefully we can stay in and around the play-offs and see what happens. We seem better when teams come at us and much harder to get a result when teams sit back and crowd the midfield.
