Former Port Vale pair sign for National League side
National League newcomers Chorley FC have signed former Port Vale duo Joe Anyon and Louis Dodds.
The paid have both been on trial at Chorley, who reached the National League after winning last season’s National League North play-offs.
Manager Jamie Vermiglio told the official website about the Dodds signing saying: “Louis is exactly the kind of experienced individual we’ve been looking for this summer. We’ve had an extended look at him during the pre-season schedule and feel very confident he’s the right fit for the squad we’ve got.”
On goalkeeper Joe Anyon Vermiglio added: “Joe’s a good character and is a welcome addition to the squad. Along with Danny Eccles, we have good options going into the season.”
Dodds made 349 appearances for Vale over two spells, scoring 56 goals. Anyon progressed through the Vale youth ranks and made 118 senior appearances before being released in 2010.
