Port Vale summer friendlies – see what’s been confirmed so far
Port Vale FC have now confirmed details of three summer friendly fixtures ahead of the 2019-20 season.
John Askey’s Port Vale side will take on Premier League side Burnley on the 20th July along with another home game against League One opponents Fleetwood Town and the side’s traditional summer visit to local non-league side Kidsgrove Athletic. The fixtures will give Vale supporters the first chance to see the club’s new signings including former Bury midfielder Scott Burgess and former Wrexham defender Kieran Kennedy.
The ticket details for the fixtures at Vale Park will be announced by the club on their website and via social media closer to the time of the matches. Tickets will be available to purchase via the club’s ticket office or you can pay on the day.

Port Vale FC Summer fixtures
BURNLEY (H)
Saturday 20th July
Kick-Off 3pm
Port Vale fans will be looking forward to their side taking on a top-fight Premier League side as Sean Dyche’s Burnley come to Vale Park. While it’s unlikely that Burnley will field a full-strength team there are still plenty of household names such as Joe Hart, Nick Pope, Tom Heaton, Ashley Barnes and former Stoke striker Peter Crouch.
FLEETWOOD TOWN (H)
Wednesday 17th July
Kick-off 7:30pm
Managed by the ever-controversial figure Joey Barton, the League One outfit will undoubtedly prove a tough test for John Askey’s Port Vale side. Fleetwood may not include former Port Vale player Ryan Taylor, who left the club at the end of last season but the likes of Ched Evans, Dean Marney and Paddy Madden are all well known names in the lower leagues.
KIDSGROVE ATHLETIC (A)
Saturday 6th July
Kick-off 3pm
A regular feature of the summer pre-season fixtures for some years, this will be Port Vale’s latest visit to near neighbours Kidsgrove’s Hollinwood Road ground. Last summer the match finished 1-1 while Port Vale also loaned winger Harry Benns to Kidsgrove last season.
More Port Vale friendly fixtures are expected to be announced soon.
