Former Valiants: trio are released by clubs at end of season
Three former Port Vale players have been released by their clubs as football sides announce their retained list.
National League side Chesterfield have released two former Valiants. Louis Dodds, who had a loan spell with the Valiants earlier this season has been let go alongside former Port Vale keeper Joe Anyon. The pair are among twelve players to be released by the Spireites.
Dodds made 349 appearances for the Valiants scoring 56 goals. He helped the club to promotion in 2013. Anyon progressed through the club’s youth ranks and made 118 senior appearances before being released.
Meanwhile, Vale’s League Two rivals Northampton Town have released veteran midfielder Sam Foley who previously spent two years with the Valiants.
Finally, Lee Molyneux, who had a loan spell with the Valiants in 2010 without making a senior appearance, has been released by National League side Barrow.
