Micky Cummins was signed by Brian Horton in March 2000 on a free transfer from Middlesbrough. He made a total of 287 appearances during a six year stay with the club. He left in 2006 to join Darlington and after further spells with Rotherham United, Grimsby Town and Gateshead he retired as a player in 2014. He is now assistant manager to Steve Watson at Gateshead.
