Micky Cummins player profile:
Micky Cummins (also known as Michael Cummins) was a consistent midfielder with a good goal-scoring record who was signed by Port Vale from Middlesbrough on a free transfer in 2000. Cummins had been at Middlesbrough for four years but had played just twice in that time before he joined Vale in search of first-team football.
He scored nine goals for Port Vale in 2001-2002 including the winning goal in a Potteries derby win over Stoke City and he was also a member of the side that won the LDV Vans Trophy Final.
He eventually left the club in 2006 to join Darlington on a free transfer. He later had spells at Rotherham United and Grimsby Town before moving to non-league Gateshead.
