Port Vale sign Nottingham Forest defender on loan
Adam Crookes joins on loan: the Valiants have confirmed the signing of defender Adam Crookes on loan from Nottingham Forest.
An official Port Vale FC club statement said:
Port Vale are delighted to announce the signing of Adam Crookes on loan for the rest of the season from Nottingham Forest, and will wear the number 14 shirt.
The 21 year old has spent the start of this season on loan at table toppers Lincoln City, making five appearances.
Adam, who can play either left full back or centre back, signed for Nottingham Forest at just eight years old, and made his first loan move to Guisley two years ago where he made 15 appearances.
Manager Neil Aspin is pleased to have been able to snap up the young defender.
“He’s versatile and can play a few positions and he’s left footed. A natural left footer in the defence is something we’ve not had and he’ll compete for a place.
He was always someone that we wanted to bring in. He wants to play football, he’s desperate to play and he’ll play in the reserves tomorrow.”
Crookes is the first addition during the January window and this move follows the departures of Tyrone Barnett and Brendon Daniels.
