Port Vale defender: I knew we’d turn it around after Lincoln loss
Connell Rawlinson says the Port Vale squad has plenty of strong characters and he was confident the side would bounce back from the heavy defeat to Lincoln City.
Rawlinson has been a regular in the defence since signing in the summer and was part of the side which lost 6-2 to Lincoln.
It was embarrassing. I think when you get embarrassed it shows the character of a person to come back strongly and prove people wrong…
He told the media: “There are a lot of strong characters and a lot of leaders. When the eleven line up before we go out every week you have four or five lads there who are raring to go and geeing the other lads up.
“So, personally, I knew after that week that we would turn it around. It was a bit of a freak weekend to concede from five set plays and lose 6-2.
