It came in a true purple patch for the Valiants who would win ten of their first eleven games as they powered their way to the Third Division North championship.

Carlisle 3-2 Port Vale, 2006.
A soul-destroying defeat for the Valiants who squandered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 thanks to Peter Murphy’s 81st minute winner. Vale had taken the lead through strikes from Jeff Smith (right) and Paul Harsley.
Notable others
