Rumour: Port Vale linked with Northampton and Peterborough forwards
The Staffordshire Sentinel says that Port Vale could make moves for two League One strikers.
Manager Neil Aspin has said that forwards are a key priority and that the club has made bids for two players, suggesting that the club will be targeting under contract players rather than free agents.
Vale have already had a bid rejected for Chesterfield’s Kristian Dennis and could well be priced out of the bidding for the prolific transfer-listed striker.
If so, the Sentinel claims that Vale could look at Peterborough’s Ricky Miller, who is transfer-listed and was subject of Vale interest in January plus former Crewe man Billy Waters, out of favour at Northampton Town.
Both players are under contract and would presumably cost a fee. However, Miller was due to stand trial this summer and the outcome of that could influence whether Vale continue their interest or not.
