Port Vale miss out on Chesterfield striker Kristian Dennis
Port Vale transfer target Kristian Dennis has joined League Two rivals Notts County.
The Valiants made several bids for the transfer-listed striker but these were turned down by the Spireites as not acceptable.
Chesterfield manager Martin Allen told the Derbyshire Times earlier this week that: “We had an offer from Port Vale which we deemed not enough, so that first offer has been rejected.” It was then reported in the local media that two further offers were also dismissed.
On Thursday it was confirmed that Notts County had signed Dennis for what was described as a “significant” fee.
Vale have been linked with moves for three League One strikers – Northampton’s Billy Waters and Peterborough duo Ricky Miller and Junior Morais.
