Match report: Barnet 1-1 Port Vale
Striker Anton Forrester scored what could be a priceless equaliser as Vale scraped their second consecutive away point.
Manager Neil Aspin brought in defender Charlie Raglan to replace the injured Kyle Howkins but Vale’s re-jigged defence got off to the worst possible start as the home side took an early lead. Striker John Akinde rattled the woodwork and Alex Nicholls was on hand to open the scoring on four minutes.
Vale threatened little in the first-half as the home side took their advantage into the interval.
However, that lead lasted just five minutes of the second-half as Anton Forrester headed home Michael Tonge’s set-piece and Vale were back on level terms. It was the 24 year-old’s third goal of the season. The goal revived Vale who looked a different outfit in the second period. Even so, Barnet threatened through a drive from Curtis Weston and a further effort from Akinde.
Vale countered with efforts from Forrester and substitute Donovan Wilson. However, neither side could get a decisive second goal as it finished all-square at the Hive.
